Created in 1898 by the local railroad company, the Alameda Park Zoo is the oldest zoo in the Southwest. Set on only 12 acres, this small, well-maintained zoo maintains almost 300 exotic and local animals such as red kangaroo, ocelots and golden eagles. Adjacent to the Tularosa Basin Historical Museum, the zoo has a picnic and playground area.
Open daily 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $2.20; Seniors (60+) and Children (3-11) $1.10; Children under 3 are free.
