Covering portions of mountain ranges in the Rocky Mountains, the Lincoln National Forest is an outdoor recreation area suited for activities from off-road driving to fishing. The park is divided into three areas: the Smokey Bear district, the Sacramento district and the Guadalupe district, each with their own distinct scenic and recreational features. Popular activities in the districts include cross-country and downhill skiing, hiking, mountain biking and camping. It is located on 1.1 million acres of land in south central New Mexico.
